BBQ Wings Homemade Sauce

BBQ Wings with Homemade Sauce

Ingredients:
– 4 pounds chicken wings
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
– 1/2 cup Open Pit barbecue sauce
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
– 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
– Tabasco sauce, to taste (optional)

Equipment:
– Large baking sheet or broiler pan

Instructions:

1. **Prepare the Chicken Wings:** Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut off and discard the wing tips. Season the wings with salt and pepper, and place them on a broiler pan or a baking sheet lined with foil.

2. **Broil the Wings:** Position the wings about 4 to 5 inches from the heat source and broil for 20 minutes, turning them once halfway through to ensure even cooking.

3. **Slow Cook the Wings:** Transfer the broiled wings to a slow cooker. In a bowl, mix together the Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, Open Pit barbecue sauce, honey, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt, and Tabasco sauce (if using).

4. **Cook the Wings in the Slow Cooker:** Pour the prepared sauce over the wings in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until the wings are tender and fully cooked.

– **Alternative Oven Method:** If you prefer baking, place the wings in a foil-lined baking dish, coat with the sauce, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, flip the wings, coat again with the sauce, and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

5. **Serve and Enjoy:** Once cooked, serve the wings hot and enjoy the delicious homemade BBQ flavor!
