MOUNDS CAKE

MOUNDS CAKE

Here’s a quick and delicious dessert that my husband absolutely loves—Chocolate Mound Cake! Although we usually stick to healthier eating, we like to indulge on special occasions. For Father’s Day, I made this cake, and my husband said it was the best cake I’ve ever made. I usually cook from scratch, but since I’m still dealing with some morning sickness, I opted for a shortcut using a cake mix. The cake was such a hit with my family that I had to share the recipe with you!

Ingredients:

– 1 box white or yellow cake mix
– 1/2 cup cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 2 cups chocolate chips
– 1 cup chocolate syrup
– 8 oz. tub Cool Whip
– 2 cups shredded coconut

How to Make Chocolate Mound Cake:

1. **Preheat the Oven:** Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, then add cocoa powder and sugar. Mix until well combined.

2. **Bake the Cake:** Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips evenly over the top.

3. **Bake and Poke:** Bake the cake for about 30 minutes or until cooked through. Remove it from the oven and immediately poke holes all over the cake using a meat fork.

4. **Add the Syrup:** Warm the chocolate syrup and pour it evenly over the hot cake. Cover and let the cake cool overnight.

5. **Frost the Cake:** Mix the Cool Whip with shredded coconut to create the frosting. Spread it over the cooled cake and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This Chocolate Mound Cake is a simple, indulgent treat that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
