Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Chicken

Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Chicken

Are you ready to dive into some Hawaiian-style chicken? This teriyaki chicken recipe is truly exceptional—I’ve never tasted anything like it! It’s absolutely delicious, and you’ve got to try it.

This Hawaiian Grilled Teriyaki Chicken takes me back to the authentic teriyaki I enjoyed all the time when I lived on the island. It’s tender, packed with flavor, and pairs perfectly with any Hawaiian dish. Just like fresh pineapple, no luau or Hawaiian party feels complete without teriyaki chicken—or maybe even some spam (laughing emoji here because it’s funny, but also true). This mouthwatering chicken is juicy, flavorful, and goes great with grilled pineapple spears or as part of a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch.

Ingredients:
– 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
– 1 cup soy sauce
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup sugar
– 5 cloves garlic, mashed
– 1 ginger root (2-3 slices, cut thin and lengthwise)

How to Make Hawaiian-Style Teriyaki Chicken:
1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, water, and sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Add the ginger and garlic, then place the chicken in the marinade.
2. For best results, marinate the chicken for up to 3 days, but if you’re short on time, at least 24 hours is recommended.
3. If you can’t wait, you can boil the chicken in the sauce immediately after preparing the marinade.
4. Grill the chicken as you normally would over high heat. After grilling, place the chicken in a pot on the grill. Add some fresh teriyaki sauce to the pot, allowing the chicken to steam, which keeps it tender and juicy.

Enjoy this flavorful, tender Hawaiian chicken!
