Ribeye steak

Ingredients:
– 1 ribeye steak
– Sea salt flakes
– Freshly ground black pepper
– 50g butter
– 2 sprigs of thyme
– 1 garlic clove, crushed (leave the skin on)

How to Cook Ribeye Steak:
1. **Bring the Steak to Room Temperature:**
Take the steak out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cooking, allowing it to come to room temperature. This ensures even cooking.

2. **Season the Steak:**
Generously season both sides of the steak with sea salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper, making sure it’s evenly coated.

3. **Heat the Pan:**
Preheat a frying pan over medium-high heat. If cooking two steaks, ensure the pan is large enough to fit them comfortably, or use two pans and heat them simultaneously.

4. **Cook the Steak:**
Place the steak in the hot pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness and your preferred doneness. As a guide, a 3cm thick steak will take about 5 minutes to cook. If you have a meat thermometer, aim for an internal temperature of 50°C for rare, 60°C for medium, and 70°C for well-done.

5. **Add Butter, Thyme, and Garlic:**
After flipping the steak for the first time, add the butter, thyme, and garlic to the pan. Stir for about a minute, basting the steak by tilting the pan and spooning the melted butter over the meat.

6. **Rest the Steak:**
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes. This step is crucial as it allows the meat to reabsorb its juices, ensuring a tender and juicy steak when sliced.

7. **Serve:**
Slice the steak into strips, season if needed, and serve with your choice of sides and sauce.

Conclusion:
Taking the time to properly season, cook, and rest your ribeye steak guarantees a tender and flavorful result. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy a restaurant-quality steak at home!
